Excessorized, the Great-Great Granddaughter of Triple Crown Legend, Secretariat!Excessorized, the Great-Great Granddaughter of the Triple Crown Legend Secretariat, is now a resident of Safe Haven Horse Rescue!  Excessorized was brought to Safe Haven Horse Rescue after Contra Costa Animal Control found her starving to death. After arriving at Safe Haven approximately 400 pounds underweight and fighting fevers, the volunteers gave her the much needed love, nutrition, and veterinary care she deserves. She is now recovering and doing well!  We would like to thank After the Finish Line for the emergency grant that they provided for all of her medical needs!

We welcome YOU to come and meet Excessorized at Safe Haven Horse Rescue. Let us share her story and others with you and help bring more awareness to these horses' plight.

  • Pipi is in the one catagory that Safe Haven doesn't see too often, & that she is OVER weight!!! She gets grass hay for her meals & begs & begs for the little 'sprinkling ' of alfalfa she gets for seasoning!!! Pipi is on 'horsey' rest, except for exercise to trim her up & keep her in shape! She loves to play Tag!! Lydia & her had fun playing tag in the round pen! There is a story & pic on the blog about that!

  • Linda R. worked very hard to keep this horse from going to slaughter! The family of the man who moved & abandon them wanted to know how to get in touch w/ a kill buyer! GRRR......... Anyhow, Deena is a World Class Show Horse,who now is up there in years & wasn't wanted anymore! She is coming along very nicely & soon we hope to say She's FAT!!!

  • Money is the other horse that came in w/ Deena. He has been a high $ winning roping horse. Money is a easier keeper than Deena, & is not in as bad of condtion as Deena's! He has an issue w/ his right front, so we're thinkin' ring bone possibly because of his career in the past!  He seems to be just a sweetheart!
