After the Finish Line is a Nationally recognized 501(C)(3) funding non-profit for Thoroughbred racehorses that are transitioned off the racetrack into a second career. The donations we receive will help support Thoroughbreds at rescue organizations across the United States while they await adoption. We are committed to the welfare of these horses. We exist to honor and respect the Thoroughbreds and ensure they have a quality of life when they are done racing. We believe in our program. www.afterthefinishline.org Safe Haven Horse Rescue rescued Excessorized, a descendant of Secretariat. Her racing ability fell far short of Secretariat's. Excessorized or Sessie as she is affectionately called raced 9 times at Golden Gate Fields and earned $2,700. She often raced every 10 days. Seven months after she left the racetrack, Animal Control found her emaciated and neglected and she was brought to Safe Haven for rehabilitation. Through a generous grant from After the Finish Line vet, farrier and dental expenses have been paid for plus special feed that is helping her gain 300 pounds. Thank you After the Finish Line!!
